Bruce James Productions Ltd presents

Doctor in the House
by Ted Willis
adapted from the books by Richard Gordon

Doctor in the House This play follows the inexperienced young medical student Simon Sparrow as he begins his five-year internship at St. Swithin’s Teaching Hospital where he continually runs afoul of the irascible head surgeon Sir Lancelot Sprat. Sparrow's social life is spiced up when he is taken under the wings of two student repeaters – Tony Grimsdyke and John Evans, who’ve flunked their prelims and are seeking a second chance. The humour is very similar to that of the famous ‘Carry On’ films and as such has delighted audiences all over the world for generations. This brand new production promises to be no exception as we follow the off duty lives of the medical students – their happy triumphs and brave failures, love affairs and parties. This is comic nostalgia at its very best and is sure to be as well-loved as the original books, films and television episodes have become.

Tuesday 13th to Saturday 17th May Evenings at 7.30pm; Saturday matinee at 3.30pm
Bruce James Productions Ltd presents

Strangers on a Train
by Craig Warner
Based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith

Strangers on a Train Two young men meet on a train; Guy Haines, an ambitious architect, and Charlie Bruno, a mother fixated playboy with a taste for danger. As the train takes them to their destination, the two travellers speculate upon what it would be like to commit the perfect murder. The innocent Guy doesn’t realise that this chance encounter is “deadly” serious and is dragged into a downward spiral of nightmarish control when Bruno fulfils his part of the casual bargain and hounds Guy to complete the murder circle. This gripping new stage adaptation of the classic psychological thriller perfectly captures a growing sense of claustrophobic terror. A wonderfully thrilling story with, at times, unbearable suspense that builds steadily but terrifyingly to the dramatic and nerve-wracking climax, Strangers on a Train promises audiences the journey of their lives.
