The mini grill was replaced with a Jaguar XJ6 item and a steel spoiler was made which also housed the number plate. A one piece rear door was made using a hard wood frame, sheeted with exterior plywood and aluminium. Paint was candy apple red over a silver and gold base and graphics. Lacquer was then applied to give the wet look shine. Stainless steel over sills were made and fitted and 13” 8 spoke chrome wheels at each corner.

After 2 years of work it hit the streets of Chesterfield and appeared at shows up and down the UK from Cornwall to Newcastle, sometimes dragging a 12’ caravan! A trip to the drag strip was a day to remember in more ways than one, a failed alternator and an intermittent misfire was not a recipe for a fast ¼ mile run, but still managed to get in the low end of 13sec.

The performance was amazing but also under pant changing material in wet conditions, this is when the owner found out that adrenaline is brown! 2 years of hard work paid off but he only has one regret about this project, should never have sold it!!
